18-year-old man bitten to death by zoo tiger in Beijing An 18-year-old migrant farmer was mauled to death by a Siberian tiger after mistakenly entering the grounds of a wild animal zoo in Beijing after touring the Great Wall, zoo staff confirmed Sunday. The man surnamed Guo, from Hebei Province, entered the Badaling Wild Animal World in Yanqing County with two companions at around 4:20 p.m. Saturday after climbing over three-meter-high fences without paying attention to the warning boards saying there were wild animals inside, the zoo said. Two companions of Guo escaped but Guo was caught by a Siberian tiger and mauled to death on the scene. The three were on their way back from a visit to a remote part of the Great Wall in Yanqing and for a shortcut, mistakenly entered the zoo, it added. A worker with the zoo said he was patrolling in the tigers area in a car when he saw a grown Siberian tiger was biting a man in the throat and throwing his head. The driver then rode the car to the tiger, which left the man and ran away. They forced the tigers in the zoo back into cages and alerted police. The zoo said the tragedy was still being investigated by local forestry authorities. The Badaling Wild Animal World covers an area of 400 hectares and has about 10,000 wild animals. 记者8日从北京八达岭野生动物世界证实，7日下午，一名河北籍男子误入野生动物世界虎园被老虎咬死。目前，八达岭野生动物世界仍正常开放。 据北京八达岭野生动物世界对外发布消息称，7日16时20分，三名河北籍务工人员到延庆残长城游玩，在返回途中为抄近路，翻越立有“内有猛兽请勿靠近”警示牌的两道围网和一道电网，结果误入八达岭野生动物园猛兽区内，致使18岁的郭某被园内老虎当场咬死。 据八达岭野生动物世界一名工作人员回忆，事发时，他正好乘坐吉普车路过虎园进行巡视，只见一只成年东北虎正死死咬住一男子的喉咙，不时甩动脑袋，被咬住的人已毫无反应。司机开车朝咬人的老虎冲过去，老虎才松口扔下被咬者。他们随即将老虎赶回笼子，并当场报警。 据介绍，八达岭野生动物世界的外墙由3道铁条隔离网组成，最外围和第二层的隔离网有3米多高、不带电，第三层网由3米高的底网和1米高的顶网组成，总高度约4米，顶网带电。虎园位于动物世界西侧，再往西是一段蜿蜒向北的残长城。每层网的外面都立着“内有猛兽请勿靠近”的警示牌。 据了解，八达岭野生动物世界冬季开放时间为上午10时30分至下午3时。目前，延庆县园林局等部门已介入调查。 |
